April 8, 2024 – As a part of their new Growing up Har-co initiative, Har-co Credit Union launches the Learning Corner. The Learning Corner is a suite of financial literacy games and activities for all ages, curated from government and non-profit sources including NCUA, FDIC, and NPR.
"We set out to launch the Growing Up Har-co initiative to provide custom solutions for our youngest members," states Alex Coulson, Chief Marketing Officer. "Part of that holistic solution is teaching them the importance of saving, budgeting, and lending. We researched reputable sources that offered not only credible education materials, but engaging ones. A financial literacy platform is only a realistic solution if children have the desire to learn and the platform engages with those needs."
The resources are broken out into different school-aged levels and are specifically designed for that respective age group. Within The Learning Corner, there are also teacher resources to assist in the classroom. Teachers can simply use the link and choose their grade for classroom activities, print outs and guided instructions. The platform will be expanded and refreshed on an ongoing basic to ensure the highest level of quality is included in the Learning Corner. This marks yet another milestone for Har-co’s dedication to the youth of the community.
