April 16^th, 2025 – Bel Air, MD – Har-co Credit Union proudly wrapped up its third annual Har-co Helping Har.Co. bracket style tournament! This community-driven competition featured 16 local nonprofit organizations in a fun, bracket style showdown designed to raise both awareness and support for their incredible causes. After four exciting rounds and a record-breaking number of votes, The Highlands School emerged as this year’s champion!

The Highlands School is an independent, non-profit school located in Harford County that was established to remediate students with learning differences who struggled to learn by conventional teaching methods. It was and continues to be The Highlands School’s goal to help each student discover how he/she learns and help facilitate academic growth. 

"As a proud part of this community for nearly 70 years, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to give back,” said Alex Coulson, Chief Marketing Officer at Har-co Credit Union. “Harford County is home to so many incredible local organizations. We launched this tournament to spotlight as many of them as possible within a single, month-long campaign. This year’s tournament nearly doubled every previous record, proving that it is growing bigger and more impactful with each passing year. The community’s enthusiasm and support just keep raising the bar!”

The Highlands School will be awarded $2,000 on June 26^th,2025. Har-co will be holding it’s second annual X-Golf tournament in honor of the Highlands School.
