Mortgage Loan Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Har-co Credit Union is seeking a motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans and build lasting relationships with referral partners across our lending footprint in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

• This position offers the opportunity to grow loan production through credit union member leads, referral partnerships, and community engagement.
• You will work closely with borrowers and referral partners to structure mortgage solutions while managing loans through the full origination process from application through closing.

COMPENSATION

• $40,000 – $47,500 base salary + commission
• Uncapped commission based on loan production
• High-performing loan officers can earn six‐figure income
• Commission paid on closed loan volume monthly

SALES SUPPORT & RESOURCES

• Established member base
• CRM system for pipeline management
• Dedicated loan processing support
• Marketing support for referral partner development
• Competitive mortgage products including Conventional, FHA, and VA loans

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Originate residential mortgage loans including first and second mortgages
• Develop and maintain relationships with Realtors, builders, and referral partners
• Generate new loan opportunities through networking and community involvement
• Advise members on mortgage products and financing options
• Independently structure mortgage loans based on borrower needs
• Verify and compile complete and accurate loan applications
• Analyze borrower credit, income, and financial documentation
• Ensure required disclosures are provided in compliance with regulations
• Monitor loan pipeline, deadlines, and closing timelines
• Communicate effectively with borrowers, processors, and underwriters

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of mortgage loan origination experience
• Active NMLS license in good standing
• Ability to obtain licensing in MD, DE, and PA
• Knowledge of conventional and government mortgage programs
• Experience using DU/LP underwriting systems
• Strong relationship‐building and communication skills
• Highly organized with strong time‐management abilities
• Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
